[size=medium][font=Merriweather, serif]Anyone can be a songwriter! Music lessons are much more effective and fun when students are given the chance to express themselves creatively. That’s why so many of our students learn how to play an instrument through writing their own songs. While most of our students learn through songwriting, our teachers can also design a curriculum around your musical tastes.

Are you a songwriter and/or musician with experience teaching children ages 3-5 and up?
Do you play guitar, piano, drums, ukulele or voice (other instruments will also be considered)?
Do you have part-time availability in the afternoon and/or weekend hours?

Requirements:

– Experience with children and a creative, dynamic teaching style are a must!
– A music degree is preferred, but not required. Self-taught musicians and songwriters are welcome to apply.
– You must be reliable, punctual, and comfortable traveling around Westchester.
– All teachers are part-time and are paid as freelancers.

The vast majority of our lessons focus on learning a musical instrument *through* songwriting, so you will need to have experience as a songwriter to be considered.

NOTE: Teachers with experience working with PRESCHOOLERS are welcome to apply! We would love to hear from you!

Ages 3-9 Students at Blue Balloon Songwriting for Small People learn to play an instrument through writing, singing, playing, and recording their own compositions.

Ages 10-18 Students are part of our Pitch & Propeller division. Some students focus on learning to play an instrument through writing their own songs, while others learn to play songs they know and love.

Adults Learn to play an instrument either by learning the fundamentals of songwriting or by learning how to play your favorite songs.
