Privacy Policy

Songbay Privacy Policy Overview

Probably the most important consideration of joining any company is security and privacy. Knowing what is happening with the information we provide and how it remains protected is critical. Central to Songbay is a team of music industry experts, including songwriters, producers and professional musicians, who share these same concerns. To this end, we have made Songbay as secure as we possibly can.
These days, the 'privacy policy world' has become obsessed with technical terms such as ‘Cookies; ‘Frames’, ‘Cache’, etc. Basically, in order for websites (including ours) to communicate, they need to collect and retain technical data from their users. This is often a good thing as it leads to a much improved user experience, e.g., faster page loading speeds, faster browsing speeds, improved graphics/audio displays, etc. However, it can also be a bad thing, because it can put our privacy at risk. Some companies go to great lengths to collect as much data as possible. They then sell it to other businesses, where it is used for targeted advertising campaigns or other "data-harvesting" purposes!
We find these practices to be abhorrent, so our privacy policy can be defined as follows:

We gather only the information necessary for the proper functioning of our features, and absolutely no more.

We keep all your information completely private and do not sell it to anyone.

We back up, store and encrypt everything.

We do not store customer financial information, this is handled securely via our payment gateways of PayPal and Stripe.

Regarding advertising. We do not like pop-up ads, banner adds, or any adds for that matter. As such, we do not allow any third-party advertising on our website. We want users to enjoy our features without being distracted by «must-buy» products. The only «must-buy» products on Songbay are the songs and lyrics of our users!
