[size=medium][font=Merriweather, serif]We are looking to immediately fill the position of music director for our Fall 2016 production of Shrek the Musical Jr. 

This is a youth production with approximately 40 students aged 8–14.

Dates:
– Auditions Sep 10/11.
– Rehearsals Saturdays from 2-5 PM from Sep 19 to Nov 16.
– Tech TBD Nov 27 to Dec 1
– Shows Dec 2 to Dec 4.

[size=medium][font=Merriweather, serif][size=medium][font=Merriweather, serif]Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to:

– Faithfully and creatively interpret the music of the Play 
– Be thoroughly familiar with all aspects of the music of the Play 
– Audition the singers and make casting recommendations to the director 
– Prepare for and conduct music rehearsals, teaching with appropriate methods and techniques for the ages of the actors. Piano and rehearsal CDs are provided. 
– Conduct performances as needed (accompaniment tracks will be used)

Qualifications:
The best qualified applicant will have music directing experience, especially with young actors. Education in music education/vocal pedagogy/vocal performance preferred.
