Students will learn the fundamentals of the craft of songwriting; a minimum of a year of either piano or guitar is required as the sole student prerequisite. Lyrics, chords, form, and basic performance techniques will be taught in a non-judgmental class that is tailored to the needs of the students. Past or ongoing performance as a singer-songwriter is strongly preferred, as are competency on guitar and piano.
      ● Introduction to Sound Recording Faculty: This class will meet on Saturdays from 11:00am-12:00pm (ages 8-12) and 12:00-1:15pm (ages 13-18). ● String Band Faculty: This class will meet on Thursdays from 7:00-8:30pm, and is open to students ages 16 to adult. The instructor will teach tunes from the thriving Celtic/American scene as well as other appropriate repertoire of his or her choice, and the group will work together to arrange the songs for performance. All music will be taught by ear, but no previous experience learning by ear is required. All bowed and plucked string instrumentalists are welcome in the ensemble.
      ● Early Childhood Faculty: This position involves working with children ages 3 months to 4 years (various days/times) and/or ages 5-8 years (Mondays, 5:00-5:45 and 6:00-6:45pm). Please reach out to Pete Robbins with any questions about these programs.
      ● Jazz Piano Faculty (begins September 10): This instructor will teach private lessons to beginner and intermediate level piano students of all ages, as well as intermediate and advanced level jazz students.

All of the above positions are subject to fluctuations in student enrollment. Faculty members may have the opportunity to run other programs and add private students to their teaching loads if scheduling and student enrollments allow, and if the instructor’s performance meet or exceeds expectations.
