[size=medium][font=Merriweather, serif]We are seeking an Assistant Professor, Tenure Track, to serve as Conductor-Director of Concert Choir and Opera Workshops. 

Responsibilities of this position include conducting the Concert Choir, teaching studio voice, opera workshop, diction, music education courses, and general education courses such as Music Appreciation or American Popular Music. The successful candidate will play a leading role in sustaining and developing our choral programs and in recruiting. Duties of position will commence with the fall, 2017 semester, which starts August 2017.

[size=medium][font=Merriweather, serif][size=medium][font=Merriweather, serif]MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: For Tenure Track, DMA in Choral Music (Choral Music emphasis or Vocal Music Performance) with demonstrated experience in choral conducting, demonstrated recruiting, teaching and retaining studio voice, demonstrated success in directing/teaching opera workshops, diction, and evidence of teaching experience in other music coursework and general education. For appointment at Assistant Professor, a terminal degree in music is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Music Doctorate in Choral Conducting with demonstrated, comprehensive knowledge of choral repertoire at the University level; demonstrated success in recruiting, retaining and graduating successful vocal music students at the college level; significant performance, demonstrated teaching in opera workshop, diction and pedagogical abilities in vocal studio (consideration for advanced piano accompanying skills related to vocal performance studio).

SALARY RANGE: Commensurate with educational background and experience.

In 1908, one year after Oklahoma became a state, the Oklahoma Legislature created six agricultural high schools in each judicial district. Cameron State School of Agriculture was named for the Rev. E. D. Cameron, a Baptist minister and Oklahoma’s first State Superintendent of Schools. The first classes were held on Statehood Day, November 16, 1909, in the basement of a bank building while a new campus building was constructed.[/font][/size]
