Was It A Dream

I woke up today with a happy smile,
For I had been dreaming for a while,
And in that dream, you had visited me,
Showing me a vision of what could be.
We were talking so late into the night,
That it made the dream seem very bright,
Of us simply walking and holding hands,
In the bright moonlight, on pure white sands.

Was it a dream, or was it reality?
Perhaps a vision of what could be?
Do we dream how we want things to be?
Or are our dreams just a fantasy

We woke with surf rushing up the beach,
Where we had slept well, just out of reach.
The birds were greeting the early morn,
As the rose red sun created the dawn.
It was, perhaps, simply me dreaming,
Or was there reality in the meaning,
A deeper wish that was in my mind,
Of a special passion I'd like to find.

Was it a dream, or was it reality?
Perhaps a vision of what could be?
Do we dream how we want things to be?
Or are our dreams just a fantasy

When you hear this, will it make you smile,
Leave you lost in thought for a little while.
Considering just what could have been,
Or visualising that future scene.
Was this a dream, or was it reality?
Or a vision of what the future could be?
Of what, in my mind, perhaps will be,
If my dream was to become reality

Was it a dream, or was it reality?
Perhaps a vision of what could be?
Do we dream how we want things to be?
Or are our dreams just a fantasy

Going To Paradise

I think every day of my old life,
A perfect marriage, and lovely wife.
We met while still in education,
A romance beyond explanation.
After only our very first date,
I knew she was my true soul mate.
It was very early in the spring
That our love began blossoming,

Romance then became something new,
Blossoming into the love we knew.
Growing throughout the summer days,
As we learned of each other’s ways.
We worked and travelled to many isles,
Investigated other lifestyles.
Always together, never alone,
Then finally settled in our home.

My true love will always be
More than just a memory,
The one who set my heart free
You will always be with me.

The golden couple it was often said,
A life so good after we were wed.
But alas, it just did not last,
All now memories of the past.
With the autumn, the illness came,
Dimming that bright life's living flame.
The glow of love still brightly there,
But sharp and brittle in her stare.

Then with the winter the body tired,
As her life gently expired.
And then one night, while the stars still shone,
While in my arms she was then gone.
I think every day of my old life,
A perfect marriage, and lovely wife.
I’m happy that our lives were the best,
And that with her I will one day rest

My true love will always be
More than just a memory,
The one who set my heart free
You will always be with me.

Love is Eternal

My Love is Forever

We're living in a time of constant change,
But Christmas still brings us together again,
Wherever you go and whatever you do,
The festive season is for both me and you.

The tree in the corner has many pretty balls,
Welcoming wreaths lead to decorated halls.
Bright coloured lights cast a warm glow,
And log fires deny the cold of the snow.

Picture the scene of Christmas we know,
Outside the window, all is covered in snow,
Frosty is there, with a carrot nose,
And Rudolph's red one, in darkness glows.

Wherever we are, we hear a cheerful song,
Giving everyone the urge to just sing along.
Even when shopping for that special gift,
That will give your spirits a happy lift.

There’s the big meal with food and Sherry,
With family and friends all getting merry,
Then all sitting around with a full belly,
Watching old films and repeats on the telly.

Picture the scene of Christmas we know,
Outside the window, all is covered in snow,
Frosty is there, with a carrot nose,
And Rudolph's red one, in darkness glows.

The usual colours of each festive scene,
Are Santa's bright red and the holly's dark green,
And when the lights are turned on at night,
The star on the tree is silvery white.

Picture the scene of Christmas we know,
Outside the window, all is covered in snow,
Frosty is there, with a carrot nose,
And Rudolph's red one, in darkness glows.

In Just One Night

Don’t think of me as gone, for I am here still.
When you think of me, and I hope you often will,
You are keeping me alive, in your memory,
So I can’t be gone if you’re still thinking of me.

I hope if you think of me, just once in a while,
That it will always be with pleasure and a smile
For all the things we did, and the times that we shared,
Things that only happened because each of us cared.

Your company always gave me so much pleasure,
Those were times I wanted to keep and to treasure.
Think about tomorrow, perhaps the day after,
Maybe we’ll meet, and again you’ll hear my laughter.

When I was here, you were imprinted on my mind,
And those pleasant thoughts of you I could always find,
They are with me still, they are part of my spirit,
With me forever, for all time without limit.

I will only be gone, when you’ve forgotten me,
And I am lost forever from your memory,
When no one has memories that I hoped they’d save,
When nobody is left to lay flowers on my grave.

About Me

Bio

I have been a writer and user of words for most of my working life. I am a travelling man, having worked in 24 countries and travelled to over 90 countries in all. Having travelled so extensively, musically I have been influenced by so many types of instruments and styles that are not necessarily commonplace in the west. Each of my lyrics is of a different type, subject and style, so I cannot be pigeonholed as a writer in a particular genre. Many of them can also be used in multiple genres.
