A Free Man

I’ve been locked up for a life of crime
I’ve had time to reflect for so long
Led astray by others around my age
Too young to know right from wrong

But now I have another chance
A sort of get out of jail free card
They told me to stay out of trouble
Keep my nose clean and work hard

I’m a free man…….
Now a lot older than I went in
They’ve given me a chance to start over
Now it’s up to me to save my skin

I’m a free man…….
My life in jail is at an end
Now I’ve learned my lesson
And I won’t be doin’ that again

I’ve put up with those no hopers
In prison that will never change
As for them they won’t get out
So long you losers all in chains

This is my chance and I’ll take it
I’ve grabbed this with both my hands
A new life and a brand new future
Never again will I end up in the can

I’m a free man…….
Now a lot older than I went in
They’ve given me a chance to start over
Now it’s up to me to save my skin

I’m a free man…….
My life in jail is at an end
Now I’ve learned my lesson
And I won’t be doin’ that again

I’m a free man…….
Now a lot older than I went in
They’ve given me a chance to start over
Now it’s up to me to save my skin

I’m a free man…….
My life in jail is at an end
Now I’ve learned my lesson
And I won’t be doin’ that again
