Hoof-Hearted

Hooves pounding
On the dusty track
Always last
He never looked back
The crowd would jeer
And make a din
They all knew
This horse can't win

The jockey whispered
"Hold your ground"
"Someday you'll hear that winning sound"
The bell would clang
The race would start
Today he ran with all his heart

From the back
To the front
He ran so fast
Broke the spell
Of his losing past
Strode right through
The other horses parted
The whole world cheered
For Hoof-Hearted

His mane flew wild
His eyes ablaze
The track ahead
A golden haze
The odds stacked high
The stakes were steep
But dreams don’t die
They only sleep

The final turn
He's gonna make it
The crowd were stunned
They couldn't take it
He beat them all
With frightening pace
And crossed the line
He won the race
