Into Space

The idea was to colonise space
Plant the roots of the human race
Once they established who was who
They became the chosen few

They all passed the fitness test
They were better than the rest
To a planet in our galaxy they would zoom
But they won’t get there anytime soon

Into space and far away
To a planet in the milky way
Is where they’re heading on a one way trip
In the most modern of rocket ships

Now they’re gone with no way back
There’s no provision that they lack
But there’s a question that wasn’t asked
Before they left on this perilous task

Both two women and both two men
Won’t be coming back again
But in this age of morality
They didn’t ask their sexuality

Both were lesbian without a doubt
And as for the men I heard it say
Both of them were completely gay

So in the depths of outer space

I guess some civil servant is to blame
