LYRIC FOR SALE

By Vojc Triple Bull Inc

on any given Saturday
you'll find Mac with his pals
he said have a seat Yankee
and welcome to big Al’s
As months turned into years
talking sports and taking bets
I couldn't root for two teams
it's either giants or The Jets
watching football with a beer
as David pointed the remote
time to watch old miss
no need to take a vote
the table he chose
was far from the stage
he loved when I played Gordon
and cringed when Dave played rage
one song he had me play
I can still find without scrolling
he always raised the volume
when you take the skinheads bowling
from stories of old miss that
we heard every afternoon
but long before the Grove
Bob spun vinyl up in Boone
some days we're so busy
as Maddie managed the staff
when he didn't get attention
he raised his hand which made us laugh
some days he ordered take out
but fell asleep before he ate
in the morning when he woke up
Jen left him an empty plate
so many stories were shared
as the music would play
he always signed my book
but unfortunately he won't today
your bar stool now is empty
the one you sat on every week
your demons were well hidden
even when I tried to peek
everyone I spoke with
respected your hard head
friends voices are useless
when a mind won't hear what's said
if you needed a shirt
he'd give you his off his back
not a bad bone in his body
I was lucky to know Big Mac
as your friend's eyes now filled with tears
and the sadness we all show
the final rounds on me
Bethany I'll have too high and too low
