LYRIC FOR SALE

By Bernard Morris

(verse 1)
Lucky we were to live in the Nineteen Seventies
With singers like Noddy Holder we knew how to squeeze
There will never be music like that ever again
With songs like Sweet Talkin’ Woman and Gudby T’Jane
It is so sad that we will not get music like that
Again music it was much better then that’s a fact
And if you don’t believe me then just listen to Queen
The music in the Seventies was the best that’s been

(chorus)
I close my eyes and I’m back in the Seventies
With my feather cut and platform shoes
I’m back on the stage with my happy memories
Singing along to All The Young Dudes

(verse 2)
I’m sorry if I sound like an old man but it’s true
All you have to do is listen to Out Of The Blue
An album like that today it could never be made
No-one today can compare to ELO or Slade

(chorus)
I close my eyes and I’m back in the Seventies
With my feather cut and platform shoes
I’m back on the stage with my happy memories
Singing along to All The Young Dudes

(instrumental bridge)

(verse 3)
You may say some of the music it was bubblegum
With songs like I Want You Back and Hey Fatty Bum Bum
I cannot deny that some of it was rather bad
But it’s better than Coldplay making you feel real sad
We had Blondie Kate Bush John Miles and Billy Joel
T Rex David Bowie and Mott The Hoople as well
The Seventies it was by far the greatest decade
Over and over again my 45s I played

(chorus)
I close my eyes and I’m back in the Seventies
With my feather cut and platform shoes
I’m back on the stage with my happy memories
Singing along to All The Young Dudes
