When we're young
Life can seem overwhelming
So many choices about our futures
We don't know which way to turn

There's this fear of failure
Of doing something for the wrong reasons
That we might not become our best
That we don't dare to pursue our dreams

Well, if you're lucky enough to be supported
You might get to start on the right track
You coast along your successful highway
And never, ever look back

But for some young people
Those choices are way more limited
They have to find a way out for themselves
They have to make it on their own

When we are older
We have hopefully gained some wisdom
Some insights into ourselves and life
Some knowledge we can leverage

And if we're on the right path
We are potentially in a position to help others
We can be a beacon of hope in the world
We can smooth the journey for humanity

Or, if we've had a difficult life
We can turn that pain into purpose
We can help others through our voices
Sharing hope and faith and miracles

Whatever your hopes and dreams
I hope you create a life that supports them
You're never too old to change direction
You're never too lost to find your way

But it's a pretty good piece of advice
To get off the wrong train as quickly as you can
Because the longer you're on the wrong track
The more time it takes to get back

Do you consider yourself lucky?
Scientists say luck is mostly positive thoughts
So let's focus on the positive
And give our hopes and dreams our best efforts

Choose one tiny step today
To move you closer to your dreams
Set a plan and path in motion
And be dedicated and determined

One day when you look back on your life
It won't be with too many regrets or sadness
Because once you're done your very best and never given up
You've won no matter what happens
