Verse 1
I am here.
I am with you.
My hurting self has a friend
that is my other self.
Which will control how do I rule?
There are two in my mind's eye.

Chorus
Keep me right,
not wrong.
Is there a third voice
helping me decide?
Just let loose.
What if I'm wrong?
There it is again,
that third voice.
Is it conscience, imagination,
hope or God?

Verse 2
Be strong to be
happy, not sad.
Certain, not worried.
Keep moving and growing.
I'll be okay,
I'll be okay.

Chorus:
Keep me right,
not wrong.
Is there a third voice
helping me decide?
Just let loose.
What if I'm wrong?
There it is again,
that third voice.
Is it conscience, imagination,
hope or God?

fate happens.

and the better will come to you.

Outro
It's all clear now.
My decision,
the confusion gone.
I know what to do now.
I am here
even after I go.
See me now,
and watch me live.
I am here,
I am here.

Verse 1
I've travelled this way.
I've done this before.
It was a mistake again.
I admit I hit every bump in the road.
But, that's my luck.
And there hasn't been any.

Chorus
It's my choice.
Though not well thought out.
I steered the course.
Made a few stops.
For whiskey and song.
There was some love.
But just for one moon.
I'm still here.
And I'll do it again, I guess.
But, that's me, this is my road.
And the road goes on.

Verse 2
All the wrong turns.
And stops on the way.
Some were fateful, still not so beautiful.
But for the whiskey, the song.
And one more moon.

Chorus
It's my choice.
Though not well thought out.
I steered the course.
Made a few stops.
For whiskey and song.
There was some love.
But just for one moon.
I'm still here.
And I'll do it again, I guess.
But, that's me, this is my road.
And the road goes on.

Outro
Recall the smiles and the occasional moon.
And the laughs to myself.
Make me to be ready.
For pause in this life.
For the moments are short.
But this road goes on.
And on again.

Verse 1
I pass you every day,
Touch your picture with my hand.
Kiss my finger to your cheek
Like I’m still the one you leaned on when you were here.
Verse 2
In that photo on my dresser
You look dreamy, far away.
Like you loved the place you stood
Or wished to be someday.
There’s a vase beside your frame,
But the flowers never stay.
Just an empty little offering I keep giving anyway.
Pre Chorus
And your prayer is on that paper,
Folded soft and worn with time.
You were leaving, we both knew it,
Long before you crossed that line.
Chorus
Now I know that little prayer,
Your secret whispered in the dark.
It’s the blessing that you carried
When your soul began to part.
And it saves me every morning
When I touch your face and cry.
That little prayer you kept so close
Is the grace that gets me by.
And I hold on, hold on, to your secret little prayer.
Hold on, hold on, I still feel you there.
Verse 3
There’s no grave to lay down flowers,
No stone with your name carved.
Just the quiet in this bedroom
Where your memory hits hard.
But I present my love to you
In the same old tender way,
Touch your picture, read your prayer,
Still softly loving you each day.
Bridge
I still reach for you at night
In the quiet, in the air.
Every hope I have left in me
Lives inside that little prayer.
If love can cross the distance,
If heaven hears me there,
I’ll keep whispering your secret
Till you meet me somewhere.

That Little Prayer

[Verse 1]
My story ain't finished
You can see it on my face
Every mile I’ve walked
Left a line I can’t erase
I’ve been lost in the dark
I’ve stood in the light
Somewhere in between
Is where I’ve spent my life

[Chorus]
My story ain't finished
I still got a ways to go
Ain’t made it where I’m headed
But I feel it in my soul
When the good Lord’s ready
Yeah, I’ll know when it’s time
But until that moment comes
This life is still mine
[Verse 2]
Seen babies being born
And I’ve stood by a grave
Heard a preacher talk about
The souls he couldn’t save
I’ve held on to love
And I’ve watched it slip away
Worked jobs that paid the bills
And some that just took days
[Chorus]
My story ain't finished
I still got a ways to go
Ain’t made it where I’m headed
But I feel it in my soul
When the good Lord’s ready
Yeah, I’ll know when it’s time
But until that moment comes
This life is still mine
[Verse 3]
There’s a road I keep seeing
In the back of my mind
Don’t know where it leads
But I know it’s mine
Fate says one thing
Destiny don’t agree
Guess they’re both just waitin’
To see what I’ll be
[Bridge]
My story ain't finished
Don’t you write me off yet
I’ve still got some prayers
I ain’t prayed through regret
If heaven’s out there
I’ll get there some-day
But I ain’t done living
So, I’m on my way
[Outro]
And when I get there
When it’s all said and done
I won’t need no words
For the life I’ve become
No ink, no pages
Just truth over time
And that’s when they’ll say
His story is finished

My Story Ain't Finished

[Verse 1]
I drive fast and ride hard
Hot rod growlin’, horse kickin’ sparks off the gravel
Sometimes it’s just me, wind slappin’ my face
Too fast for the world to grab hold of my shadow
Mama and Daddy stand on the porch, heads shakin’
Watchin’ me tear past like a tall Texas twister
But when the revs slow down and the dust settles
I pull over, boots in the dirt
And let the world catch up
Turns out it ain’t me that’s slow
It’s life that’s quicker than I thought

[Chorus]
Fun is fast and fast is hard
Slow is not for me
Not right now
But, someday, someday I will
When I’m older and
Faster gets harder
Country punk slow down

[Verse 2]
Love moves like a slow river
Hate hits like a match on gasoline
I gotta ease off the throttle
Let the good things pull up beside me
Hey woman
Slide into the passenger seat
Race with me through the neon nights
Fast is a thrill in my hot rod
Or in the saddle with the sun burnin’ down
But remember, fast travel is short
Slow down and you go longer

[Verse 3]
Ain’t that just the way of things
Life buckin’, roads twistin’, skies changin’
One day I’ll trot steady
Find a love that keeps pace with me
I’ll slow my world down
Watch the sun melt into the hills
Make sure life don’t slip past my saddle
What a ride it’s been
A country punk, chasin’ the horizon

[Chorus]
Fun is fast and fast is hard
Slow is not for me
Not right now
But, someday, someday I will
When I’m older and
Faster gets harder
Country punk slow down

[Bridge]
No troubles now
But darn close
These punk eyes
Still see life at this speed
I can still count the fence posts
They’re not a blur

[Outro]
Country punk havin’ fun
Borderline mischief-maker
Quick to love and leave
Yeah, fast and hard
Cars and horses
Life’s a breeze with a wind in your face
Livin’ it and lovin’ it
You damn country punk

Country Punk

[Verse 1]
Let’s go to the honky-tonk.
It’s Saturday night and I’m ready.
To have a good time.
Got my hat, got my boots.
In this beat up old Chevy.
Down this dusty road.

[Verse 2]
Out of the city across the county.
Just now sunset.
A good time’s a comin’.
I can’t wait.
Beer with friends.
And two-step darlin’s in those.
Tight-fittin’ jeans.

[Chorus]
Hey, I love that beer, two-step.
And those tight-fittin’ jeans.
Beer’s in the air.
And so are the laughs.
Sittin’ at the bar.
Next to pretty.
Yeah, honey, let's hit the floor.
Scoot with me woman.
Two-step champ, she’s got the moves.
Who’s leadin’ who.
Oh yeah, beer, two-step and.
Tight-fittin’ jeans.

[Verse 3]
The beer is good and she’s real sweet.
In her tight-fittin’ jeans.
Our eyes meet.
It’s all fun.
Nothin’s for sure.
She hangs on my arm.
Her beer in her hand.
I bought her that beer, and she danced with me.
Those damn jeans, they turn me on.
She knows it, too, I’m a goner.

[Outro]
The beer is good.
The band is great.
Two-step darlin’.
Yeah, I got my hat.
Pulled low on my face.
Lookin’ good I hope.
In this honky-tonk place.
Across the dusty parking lot.
Into the old Chevy.
She’s leanin’ on me.
First gear and we’re gone.
Good night beer, so long two-step.
Now it’s me and my baby.
And those damn tight-fittin’ jeans.

Beer, Two-Step And Tight-Fittin' Jeans

[Verse 1]
When the shadows fall, and you’re lost in the night.
Remember there’s a promise, a guiding light.
In the book that we cherish, His word will abide.
With each step you take, Christ is by your side.
Hold fast to His promises, you will not go wrong.
Just surrender your heart, let Him be your guide.

[Chorus]
Have faith in Christ, He will stand by you.
In every trial, He will see you through.
With love everlasting, He’s faithful and true.
Give Him your life, He is waiting for you.

[Verse 2]
In times of uncertainty, when fears fill the day.
Lift your eyes to heaven, let your worries fade away.
When the road seems long, and your strength is low.
He whispers in your spirit, Child, just let it go.
With every tear that falls, He’ll gather them near.
Finding comfort in His presence, replace your doubt with cheer.

[Chorus]
Have faith in Christ, He will stand by you.
In every trial, He will see you through.
With love everlasting, He’s faithful and true.
Give Him your life, He is waiting for you.

[Verse 3]
So rise up with praise, let your voice be raised high.
Invite Him in your heart, let His love ignite.
Transforming your sorrow into pure delight.
Embrace this journey, with His strength abide.
Walk with faith in Christ, He’ll be your constant guide.

[Bridge]
So, when life’s trials come, and hope feels far away.
Remember you are loved, with Him, you can stay.
With every breath you take, let His praises ring.
In the church of our hearts, let us gladly sing.
Giving all our lives to the One so true.
With faith in Christ Jesus, we’ll rise anew.

[Chorus]
Have faith in Christ, He will stand by you.
In every trial, He will see you through.
With love everlasting, He’s faithful and true.
Give Him your life, He is waiting for you.

Faith In Christ

[Verse 1]
In the still of the night, I feel you near.
A gentle whisper, soft as a tear.
Your caring heart was my safe retreat.
Every memory, it feels bittersweet.

[Chorus]
Oh, forever in my heart, you’ll stay.
In every step, in every prayer I say.
You shaped my soul, made me brave and strong.
But oh, how I miss you, it feels so wrong.

[Verse 2]
Though the road ahead feels heavy and long.
Your spirit lifts me, your love makes me strong.
In the quiet moments when I feel alone.
I carry your heart like a precious stone.

[Bridge]
Days pass slowly, but time can’t erase.
The warmth of your love, the light of your grace.
I find you in flowers, in skies so blue.
A reminder of all the joy we once knew.

[Chorus]
Oh, forever in my heart, you’ll stay.
In every step, in every prayer I say.
You shaped my soul, made me brave and strong.
But oh, how I miss you, it feels so wrong.

[Outro]
In the still of the night, when dreams take flight.
I hold you close, till the morning light.
You’ll always be my guiding star.
Forever in my heart, no matter how far.

About Me

Bio

Chuck is a seasoned multi-instrumentalist, composer, and ensemble leader whose musical career spans country, folk, gospel, and contemporary digital production. His early work included years “performing as a member in country genre bands, playing banjo and guitar, and keyboards,” grounding him in the acoustic traditions that continue to shape his sound.

A dedicated contributor to community music, Chuck composed, arranged, and conducted for his parish hand bell choir — “I also composed music and wrote arrangements and served as conductor ”— developing a strong command of ensemble direction. His leadership extended to the central Indiana folk music society, where he performed for several years before serving as president. In concert settings, he became known for directing the gospel segment of performances, “selecting the music, arrangements and conducting.”

In recent years, Chuck has expanded into songwriting and digital production, crafting original lyrics and blending traditional instrumentation with modern tools. His use of Digital Audio Workstations and AI?assisted arranging reflects an artist continually evolving while honoring the musical traditions that shaped him.

PROFESSIONAL SUMMARY:

Multi-instrumentalist, composer, arranger, and ensemble leader with experience across country, folk, gospel, pop, and blues genres. Skilled in acoustic performance, ensemble conducting, songwriting, and modern digital production using Digital Audio Workstations and AI-assisted tools. Dedicated to blending traditional musicianship with evolving creative technologies.“In the recent past I have composed original songs lyrics, and applied AI assistance and DAW tools for the desired arrangement.” My writing style is to feel the music and compose the proper sound that feels just right for the thoughts that give me the ideas for my music. Most of the ideas for my compositions come at night after falling to sleep, so, I keep a notebook beside the bed and right down what had come to me. From there I begin to compose. Almost all of my recent writing has been inspired from the passing of my wife recently - hurt, memories, wishes, getting on without her.
