Father of two wonderful boys! I have been writing for almost 20 years, which is a very good stress relief to me and a good way to creatively express myself.
You’re like a cool refreshing breeze
Always putting my soul and mind at ease
Nothing about you is chaotic or uneasy
No one knows how comforting that is to me
When the world is full of stress and noise constantly
All I have to do is stand beside you , and everything's good with me
I’m not uptight and I don’t feel like there’s constant strife
All I have to do is be there, and I enjoy life
There’s a sense of calm within you
I don’t know how you do what you do
When the world gets too far out of control for me
You are the one place I just want to be
Away from you I 'm a stressed -out mess all the time
But right next to you, my life is suddenly so fine
I know I am so blessed to have you here
And that is why I never want to lose you dear
You’re always on my mind, even amidst the turmoil inside
My thoughts of you are the peace where I run to hide
I hunger to be able to see you again
Cause I know I'll be whole once again
Your hug feels so genuine, strong, and incredibly warm
The minute we touch, all the butterflies start to swarm
Your kiss is so thick and sugar sweet
Thank God you can love someone like me
The strength of your long, warm embrace
Makes my mind go numb, thoughts begin to race
In your arms, my weakness and inadequacies disappear
Never again do I want you anywhere but near
Life with you is a sentence I would so gladly serve
It’s so much better than anything I could ever deserve
Every day I thank God for sending you here to me
And with you, I gladly look forward to eternity
I always thought I was really strong
You proved to me that I was wrong
I thought I understood what love could be
But grace was something I couldn’t see
Every time I heard You died for me
I couldn’t see how that could be
But now Your Word has shown me truth
I might as well have held the sword
Now I can see I’m guilty too
And You’re the reason I’m living new
We cry out, Lord, please forgive us
Even now You still see us
I wasn’t born, but I am why
You carried that cross on Calvary
It was our sin that put You there
But still You chose that road for me
We’re guilty, Lord, but we’re forgiven
We were lost, now we’re living free
It was our sin that put You there
But it was Your love that rescued me
We fall short, we need Your grace
There’s no other way we’ll see Your face
Jesus, we will always be
Desperate for Your mercy
Our hearts are open, here we stand
Our lives are resting in Your hands
Your Spirit whispers when we stray
And leads us gently back Your way
We’re not who we were, You made us new
There’s nothing left for us to prove
Every breath, every day
We’re walking in Your grace
We’re guilty, Lord, but we’re forgiven
We were lost, now we’re living free
It was our sin that put You there
But it was Your love that rescued me
Jesus, we will always be
Standing in Your mercy
When our days on earth are through
We’ll run straight home to You
No fear, no shame, no tears from me
We know where we’ll spend eternity
How many times could it possibly take
To be able to put on your bravest face
And finally make it be able to stay
Even when you’re feeling this way
Screaming aloud that nothing is wrong
Doesn’t make it true when everything is gone
Once it was so easy to just be strong
But now the music changed, and it’s a different song
Everyone is near when they need me
But then they disappear into sudden obscurity
Gone at the slightest hint of something I may need
How fair or right could that possibly be
I’ve always somehow had to fend for my own
No one around to give me a hand or a loan
Always thought it would get easier being grown
But in silent anguish I am still all alone
For some reason I feel the need to try
To fight the tears falling from my eyes
And keep telling myself the same white lie
I’m always ok, and I’ll be damned if I’ll cry
Maybe I should just give up and fade away
Why I don’t, I can’t really say
It’s not like anyone really needs me to stay
So just disappear, who knows, I just may
Truly I believe no one would really care
Until They need something and I’m not there
No sorrow or loss would there be I swear
Of me being gone, I believe they wouldn’t be aware

My job is to give you all the love and knowledge I can
I hope you can find something to grab onto form this lowly man
Hopefully you’ll learn from my mistakes
And avoid them whatever it may take
Growing up I hope you learn how special you are
And how you’ll always have a piece of my heart
Know life won’t always be a smooth, easy ride
But, you will always be my source of pride
Together we will go through all the lows and highs
No matter what, I will be by your side
And when it comes my time to go

Not too many of us are that famous
But that’s perfectly fine with us
In the hollers and valleys you see
You mess with us all if you mess with me
Sometimes we fight amongst ourselves
But try us and you can go to hell
We’re definitely full of Mountaineer Pride
Down here we’re standing side by side
So what if we’re never that famous
That will be just fine with us
Everyday we work our fingers to the bone
At the end of it we just want to be left alone
We are so proud of a job well done
But we are just as passionate having fun
We have tons of Mounaineer Pride
Still love standing side by side
The hell with trying to be famous
Cuz here everyone knows the real us
We will always cheer the Flying WV
They’re our version of pro athletes
If there’s a ball somewhere in the air
No doubt, we’ll watch it no matter where
We’re not shy of our Mountaineer Pride
Standing with brothers & sisters by our side
There’s not much chance to be famous
But that’s just fine with us
We’ll tear up pepperoni rolls and beer
It’ll give us more energy to cheer
No matter if it’s win, lose, or draw
If Mountaineers are playing we’ll watch it all
Every single text I get
Grabs my attention immediately
But you haven’t texted me yet
You’re hell bent to get rid of me
Really don’t know what is truly going on
But this is all kinds of wrong
You’re wearing out your running shoes
Nothing helps I don’t know what to do
Questions run through my mind
You’re on it literally all the time
Is there someone new
Or someone talking crap to you
Everyday I treat you the same way
Hoping to hold you again some day
Some days you love me it seems
Other days I feel like your bad dream
I can’t wait until you text or call me again
Because then I know I am on your mind then
You text or call when you need something
Or at least that’s how it seems
Sometimes I think I should cut all ties
But that’s just my pride telling lies
You see I know I will always answer
Then have to deal with asking why
I remember pushing you up against the wall
You whispering soft “shut up and kiss me”
We didn’t plan to but we sure did fall
A kiss that held the feeling of eternity
Nothing else in the world mattered to me then
All I needed was right there in my arms
What I wouldn’t give to feel that feeling again
Just to have everything melt away so far
Your Auburn hair flashed in the sun like fire
Lighting the wick to my smoldering desire
No question I had to have so much more
Life would never go back to the dullness of before
Listening to your voice whimper my name
Feeling you pull me ever closer to you
No one else has ever made me feel the same
I’ve tried to recreate it but never been able too
I can say I still love you after all this time
Eventhough I lost you because of foolish pride
You still answer me if I text or call
But it kills me there’s nothing else there at all
I'm very aware that you are here
There's no need to see you, it's true
I feel your presence when you are near
And your scent that is so uniquely you
There's no explanation why you do this to me
We both know there is no way for us to be
Truth is you probably don't even notice me
But even in my mind you are all I can see
I can't even bring myself to say hi
