I am a Dual citizen of the US and Australia. Will be moving to Vietnam in the next 4 years. I have been writing for many years. Poetry, currently finishing a novella series. I decided to take poems and songs I have been hoarding and when AI came out tried putting them to music the way I imagined them to sound in my head. Some came out well not horrible as I understand music I just can’t create it. I am older so my voice once a contralto is no longer worth listening too ????. But I do still have a feel for what I think the song needs. I have never tried to write lyrics for someone else’s music. I can however if someone gave me clear instructions on what they wanted a song about. Then gave me the emotion behind the why of the song I could write for that. I love all types of music. I listen to pretty much every genre there is. Rap included. Though I prefer more story telling rap I am a huge fan of Kim Namjoons RPWP album. Yes I do listen to some BTS but not all of it is to my taste. I listen to a lot of Asian artists, I like Classical and Classical crossover, My first album growing up was Sarah Vaughan, I will admit I am not as well versed today in western artists. But I really don’t need to understand the genre as much to understand the feeling and thoughts for lyrics as long as you give me basic outline if you have requirements that perhaps your fans expect. Otherwise I just will always work to give my best to the person I am working with. If I feel at any point I honestly can’t give you what you need I will be upfront.
