in just a few minutes they were seated in
an exam room waiting for the doc
and the news from some test results he’s got
old man says, doc this won’t be easy for cancer at all
there’s a lot of life left in this old dog
and I’ve always been down for a good fight
sure not gonna give in easy to anything
that comes after me in this life
true strength comes from your state of mind
no matter what stage you are in this life
think you are and you’re going to be hard to beat
no matter if it’s two punks out on the street
or a greater battle that comes your way

and I’ve always been down for a good fight
sure not gonna give in easy to anything
that comes after me in this life
eight months after being diagnosed with cancer
old man’s out walking along with his dog
a little worse for the wear but one hell of a fighter
now a cancer surviver who didn’t make it easy at all
cause he’s got a lot of life yet to live
and who will always be down to give a good fight
against anything that comes after him in this life
yeah, you gotta be like the old man
saying when anything comes after me in this life
