I suppose I’ve been dreaming too much
Woke up in a sweat
Then I looked out the window
Saw too many men and
Too many people in the square
Now I’m torn from the night by the screaming
Everything moving to the rhythm of a thousand footsteps
Just yesterday they said it was over
But today there is no more news

Men are in power
Casting a shadow over our world
We have no heroes to protect us
Or to stand in our defense
Those at the very top
Are losing more control by the hour
Today we stay in the streets we don't go home
Now we’re taking matters into our own hands

Fires are blazing in the distance
Now we find ourselves in a land of confusion
They’ve all brought new problems with them
It seems this is the new world we inhabit
If we use our hands now
To take hold and make this place a better home
We can rewrite our future
We still hold visions of a life worth living

Let us rise up for I remember
A night sky where the stars still shone
I remember a life from before
When the sound of laughter filled the room
Today it is only tears that define our days
Does my generation from a different time have a role to play
Do we still know the values
Like every child knows right from wrong

Now we have something worth fighting for
Let us defend freedom democracy
And our humanity
We need a world worth living in again
This is the moment Time that is the place
We are looking toward now
This place lies in the future
We hope there is enough love there enough for everyone
