An old man sat high at the crossing of the road.
He asked me "Young man, which way will you go?"

I told him, "I don't know; as you see,
The signs for the road are invisible to me."

" The right road may be the wrong road,
And the left one may be right,
Until I decide, I think I'll wait here a night.

You know the way, which way should I go?
If it's high country I want,
Where the snow never falls;
Where the rivers are blue;
And the skies are always clear,
Which way should I go,
Or can you not hear? "

" You're right I hear badly, but I'm seeing real well,
One road leads to Heaven, the other ones to hell.
But I'm just an old man, and I may have lost my mind,
I need some help, will you spare me your time? "

" You may have loss your mind, but your high on the road.
And I'm looking to you, "Old Man", for the way "I" should go.
I'm willing to help you, along on your way,
But I need you to teach me, just what I should say."

" Just what you should say, you've already said.
Your looking for life, in the words from my head.
But the words that you need, you'll find on this road.
Following me, on the way you should go.

I'm willing to lead you, on the high road you seek,
But I need to be carried, because I'm tired and weak.
You know what I need, so what do you say?
Are you willing to carry me, along on this way? "

" You say that your able, to see the road well,
But which way are you going; to Heaven or to hell?
I what to go, where the rivers are blue,
If it's Heaven your after, I'll gladly carry you! "
