Three Wishes

Out in the fields of corn
I found a road of yellow brick
My shoes were red but worn
And my chest was beating quick

Then I saw three strangers waiting
A tin man rusting slow
And a Scarecrow standing still
With a lion crouching low

The tin man wants a heart
The scarecrow needs a brain
The lion wanted courage
So we took the road again

Tin Man, hold on tight
Scarecrow, reach that light
Cowardly Lion lose your fright
The Wizard of Oz will put us right

We walked on, side by side
With the storm brewing behind
And every step felt bigger
Than the fear inside our mind

If your chest beats hard
And your thoughts fall apart
If your knees start trembling
And your voice won’t start
I’ll be there in the middle
Of the wind and the roar
Three friends with a dream
All wanting something more

Tin Man, hold on tight
Scarecrow, reach that light
Cowardly Lion lose your fright
The Wizard of Oz will put us right

My red shoes will take me home
