MUSIC FOR SALE

Watch the guy point his gun, finger on the trigger.
Hear the blast in the ears, the sound much bigger.
See a man on the ground, another job for grave-diggers
Nothing for the reflecting pool, to rough to consider.

Can we not see the hurt, pushing all around?
Or is it covered up with clatter of tinkling sounds.
To ask ourselves why, is not the important question,
We must look through the years, When we made many concessions.

Calm cannot be found as sirens fill the air.
Waves stir the tempest of garbage everywhere.
Poor and the hungry cry out for a piece of bread.
It really doesn’t matter, for they soon will all be dead.

Can we not see the hurt, pushing all around?
Or is it covered up with clatter of tinkling sounds.
To ask ourselves why, is not the important question,
We must look through the years, When we made many concessions.

The leaders of most countries enjoy all the fame
Thinking what to say, without pointing any blame.
From the North to the West, or South to the East
Political leaders smiling with deceit and no shame.

Can we not see the hurt, pushing all around?
Or is it covered up with clatter of tinkling sounds.
To ask ourselves why, is not the important question,
We must look through the years, When we made many concessions.

…so many concessions.
…so many concessions.
