Everyday we pass them by
faces lost within the crowd
Angry scowls and lifeless stares
Stressed out voices seem too loud
But darkness can be lurking
that often eyes don't see
We may not know the worries
Or struggles that may be

Be the light that helps a stranger find her way
Sometimes a smile means more than words you say
Let your heart speak loud and clear
For all you meet to hear
Shining hope that they will see a better day

Think before a judgement's made
Looking closer with your heart
Show kindness, be a refuge
It could help the healing start
Show compassion without strings
Reach out to those in need
Change is slow but know that you
Plant peace with each small seed

Be the light that helps a stranger find his way
Sometimes a smile means more than words you say
Let your heart speak loud and clear
For all you meet to hear
Shining hope that they will see a better day

May your spirit shine chasing shadows away
As blessings will return to you always

Be the light that helps a stranger find the way
Sometimes a smile means more than words you say
Let your heart speak loud and clear
For all you meet to hear
Shining hope that they will see a better day
