Verse 1

November cold and wrapped in gray,
but he jumps up smiling at the day.
No more worries, the world feels light –
even his wife’s loud midnight snore
sounds kind of tender to him this morning.

Chorus

’Cause today is his rose-tinted-glasses day.
Nothing knocks him down, nothing brings him out of place.
Today is his rose-tinted-glasses day –
whatever comes, he’ll take it all with grace.

Verse 2

Waiting for the bathroom door,
he checks the time once more.
His daughter grumbles, doesn’t want to go –
but he just smiles, because to him
that’s the sweetest morning sound he knows.

Chorus

(Repeat)

Verse 3

He misses the bus, the doors shut fast,
but he simply chuckles as it rolls past.
“Being on time is for all of us!”
he calls out cheerfully behind the bus.

Chorus

(Repeat)

Bridge

Boss is loud, his lunch is gone,
still he keeps his harmony on.
Even when he sees his neighbor
wrapped around his wife at dawn –
he just cleans his glasses and says:
“It’s been a long time since things looked this clear.”

Final Chorus

’Cause today is his rose-tinted-glasses day.
Nothing knocks him down, nothing brings him out of place.
Today is his rose-tinted-glasses day…
