His Letter
By Karen King
He wrote his wish in the letter,
The letter to his soul mate.
It made him feel better
And, yes, he would wait …
One day she would come,
He held her in his heart,
His life would be complete
And never would they part.
He wrote his wish in the letter,
The letter to his soul mate.
It made him feel better
And, yes, he would wait …
For now, life would carry on,
But he felt a little sad.
He so wanted his love to appear
And then he would be glad.
He wrote his wish in the letter,
The letter to his soul mate.
It made him feel better
And, yes, he would wait …
He daydreamed about his other half
As on the board scraped the chalk.
More than sex, he wanted love
And someone whom he could talk.
He wrote his wish in the letter,
The letter to his soul mate.
It made him feel better
And, yes, he would wait …
Perhaps he had met her,
He really didn’t know,
He could feel her emotions
And his love was beginning to grow…
He wrote his wish in the letter,
The letter to his soul mate.
It made him feel better
And, yes, he would wait …
He could feel the connection,
As is she was standing near,
Whispering her love to him,
Softly in his ear.
He wrote his wish in the letter,
The letter to his soul mate.
It made him feel better
And, yes, he would wait …
His soul starved and needing love
How coquettishly she teased,
She cheered up and filled his heart
This love was like a disease…
He wrote his wish in the letter,
The letter to his soul mate.
It made him feel better
And, yes, he would wait …
The power of her pen,
It took him to places he’d never been.
Oh how he wished he could change
His life to a different scene...
He wrote his wish in the letter,
The letter to his soul mate.
It made him feel better
And, yes, he would wait …
She set his body alight,
Like he had never felt before.
His heat began to rise
And his flames within did roar.
He wrote his wish in the letter,
The letter to his soul mate.
It made him feel better
And, yes, he would wait …
His life limped on,
But he was not there.
His heart, mind and body
Were roaming elsewhere.
He wrote his wish in the letter,
The letter to his soul mate.
It made him feel better
And, yes, he would wait …
One day, she rang him
And asked him to her door.
She wanted him beside her
And could wait no more.
He wrote his wish in the letter,
The letter to his soul mate.
It made him feel better
And, yes, he would wait …
He bought his tickets.
He took a risk.
This was an opportunity
He couldn’t miss.
He wrote his wish in the letter,
The letter to his soul mate.
It made him feel better
And, yes, he would wait …
But, wait no more my love,
It is not needed - your letter.
For I am here waiting,
Here to make you better!
