I Went Down To The River
Written By Peter James O'Brien

I went down to the river to see what I could see
People were fishing children swimming happily
The sun was shining clouds floating majestically
Little did we know it mother earth had set us free

I went down to the river to see what I could see
There where trees dancing to a cool summer breeze
I heard a confiscation between the birds and the bees
They were simple saying mother earth had set them free

I went down to the river to see what I could see
Water so refreshing flowers smelling heavenly
Life flowing from the mountain into the sea
Little do we know it mother earth can set us free

I went down to the river to see what I could see
Over whelmed with all life’s beauty
I got down on my knees and prayed
Thanking mother earth for she truly set me free
