Karma and the Devil
By Tony McDonald
[Verse 1]
As I stumbled through the darkness
Who is that holding my hand
None other than Karma and the devil
We're raising hell across the land
My road is paved with yesterdays
I know what I can withstand
But with Karma and the devil
Life never goes as it was planned
[chorus]
I was running with the devil
Some how I have lived to tell
My cup overflowed with bad karma
To the bottom is where I fell
Lead me from these troubled waters
Save me from a prison cell
Sever these ties for the devil I despise
And release me from his spell
[Verse 2]
As we gather at the sacred river
I kneel on the banks of sand
I bow to thee, the one greater than me
And await his final command
Lead me down the road of the right lord
To thee I extend my hand
I'll tell Karma and the devil
I'm sure they will understand
[chorus]
I was running with the devil
Somehow I have lived to tell
My cup overflowed with bad karma
To the bottom is where I fell
Lead me from these troubled waters
Save me from a prison cell
Sever these ties for the devil I despise
And release me from his spell
