1] [Well] I was lost and somewhat boxed in, like on a night pitched dark. While the whole world searched through the darkness, trying to find a light or even a spark. But then I turned my eyes on the inside, and found in me there was a saving grace. A pair of hands that reached out from the heavens and lift me up to a higher place.
2] this day and the time has come as if to make right for all the wrongs we’ve done. We’re told to give up and surrender, and take leave of our rights and freedoms. Although you’re hiding in a lockdown now, these challenges are no mistake, your breakthrough will be coming in tomorrow to lift you up to a higher place.
Chorus] So I’m crying out from a dark place for the light to find my face. For that hand to reach in from the heavens, and lift me up to a higher place. [Repeat.]
3] This part of the night it may be dark, kinda dark somehow. Oh but morning is certainly coming, even though it may not seem so now. Remember that longtime light that once shone in, to brighten your darkest of days, it will be your breakthrough on tomorrow and to lift you up to a higher place.
