LYRIC FOR SALE

By WM Holmes

Up until now we've hardly spoke.
Except when you we're with your friends
And a little drink for a bit of Dutch courage.
And hopefully someday
our words will flourish.

It's okay,
it's nice that you're taking you're time
It just means that
it'll take a little longer....
but that's fine and that's perfectly all right.

I would wait an eternity for you if I had to.
You seem genuine enough....
and there's something quite special about you,
I just can't place it... right now.

It's been 6 months since
we first met
We were going to remain friends
but then It got all
emotional and I said
we'd have to hook up sometime.
I'll text you at the weekend.

We could go for a bite....
There's a nice little place
At the Riverside....
Does tapas and free shots until 9

It would be interesting to see how tonight goes
It's good that things are looking up instead of down.
and now its actually happening, It's quite exciting.
I guess you could say we're an item now.

Say I'll pick you up around 6
We could do the promenade
And bum around for a bit.
We don't have to eat too early.
I'm glad I caught up with you finally,
It's been a long time coming.
And by the way,
you do look stunning!

"Hi its me, is everything okay?
I've tried  to call you many times
and If you're there, please pick up
I'm here and I'll be sticking around for a while
If you change your mind
And if I don't see you, then maybe Some other time. Bye!"
