It’s okay to drop the ball now and then from time to time
But mostly I’m just saying that so I know the words will rhyme

Truthfully I’m usually more often full of fear
Edging joy out of my life and holding worry near
What I wouldn’t give these days for just a little peace of mind
But ask me how I’m doing and I’ll surely say I’m fine

If you wake up in the morning with your thoughts racing around
Wishing you could stay in bed with your feet up off the ground
I’m telling you you’re not alone it’s more common than you think
It’s why most of us are masking pain with shopping, drugs and drink

But let me also tell you this you gotta face the day
One day at a time my friend there is no other way

Stay in this perfect moment the very best you can
Cuz the good lord will never burden you with more than you can stand
You can have almost everything that you’re dreaming of
And if no one has told you yet today, you’re amazing and you’re loved.

I’ve walked a long and winding road not quite sure where I’m going
And most of all the fear I’ve felt is from all of the not knowing
It’s taken a long time for me to finally calm down
Put down the shovel and stopped digging, turned my whole damn life around

It hasn’t been an easy path, but it’s the hand that I was dealt
And now I’m so very grateful for all the feelings that I’ve felt
