Why is it that we both pretend,
we don’t know what’s going on?
Whilst we hide the truth behind the masks we wear.
(Female)
We play our parts like actors in some poorly written film.
it's obvious to all, how much we care.

(Female)
My crystal heart, so pure and yet so fragile.
Was shattered by betrayal long ago.
It’s taken many years for me to mend it.
Even now, here deep inside, the cracks still show.

(Male)
I’m scared to take the chance on finding love again.
So I hide behind this wall of “just good friends”.
I wish that there was more, the two of us could share.
But I know the way relationships can end.

(Female)
I’ve known true love and happiness, how wonderful it is.
To be in love, oh how I miss it so.
But that love died and part of me died also.
My friends have told me, it’s time that I let go.

(Male)
I hate those times when I’m alone.
No-one to share my day.
But I’m scared that if I open up my heart again.
you too...might also go away.

(Female)
And will I feel unfaithful to a memory?
Or constantly compare to what I’ve lost.
Can I open up my heart and let another in?
Is the gamble really worth what it might cost?

(Duet)
So do we just keep going through the motions?
A relationship of work but nothing more.
A friend to sit and talk to every lunchtime.
But alone when we get home and close the door.

And what about this fear we have of losing?
If one of us should find somebody new?
Will we smile and wish them every happiness whilst regretting what we knew that we should do.

Don’t let the chance of love slip through our fingers.
It’s time to hide the fear, we must be brave.
We’ll be honest. Tell each other our true feelings.
It’s worth the risk of what we might both save.

Tomorrow we will have that conversation.
At least we’ll know we’ve said how we both feel.
Was this just in our imagination
Or have we found a love that’s true and real?
