Words are like knives
They can spread happiness on your life
Or cut deep into your heart
Saying the right things is such an art

In interviews they can open up doors
Infect old wounds settle old scores
Hearing a good joke can make you laugh
Singing that old song while taking a bath

Can start wars or make a truce
Raising your stakes while holding a deuce
They say talk is cheap ,it's more like gold
Language helps you cross the threshold

Now imagine if words had not been invented
Would it be so lamented
No rude words about sex
You would get no tweets on X

Politicians would be all silenced
Or hate preachers condoning violence
Imagine Hitler having no speeches
Neither Goebbels or the other leeches

There would be no works of Shakespeare
No Romeo and Juliet or King Lear
A word is mightier than the pen there is no doubt
There would be no Bible for the devout

Not any lyrics for all the songs
No arguments no sing alongs
We would have only advanced to the dark ages
So thank God we have the word, but use them wisely you, sages
Now before I start to sound absurd
