He woke every day
Knowing she’d be there
He slept without a care
Forgetting life isn’t fair
But there would come a day
Life came crashing down
She left with nothing to say
He knelt on the ground
I said, life isn’t fair
When things didn’t go my way
But when she was here
I decided to play

But not once did I bother to tell her
Without you life comes crashing down
But just like a knife
Life may cut both ways
And like all those other guys
Who decided to play
The wound would stay
Long after the knife
The life isn’t fair
Would also apply to his ex-wife
