Cops and Robbers
By Brett Dan
The whole world needs cops and robbers,
Cops and robbers need to celebrate.
Yes, they need to celebrate.
Cops and the robbers,
Too hard to separate.
Politicians and politics,
Cops and the robbers,
The spiders and the snakes,
Crocodiles and the sharks.
All on the take.
Cops and the robbers,
they need to integrate.
Politicians are the robbers
The cops clear the way.
Democratic society, or so they say.
The whole world needs cops and robbers,
Cops and robbers need to celebrate.
Yes, they need to celebrate.
Cops and the robbers,
Too hard to separate.
Existential dilemma is this because we are free.
Inherently responsible, affirming the existence of such a thing.
The existential proposition,
Truth and reality are constructed fictions.
Creating the illusion,
We are really free.
The whole world needs cops and robbers,
Cops and robbers need to celebrate.
Cops and the robbers,
Too hard to sperate.
Cops and the robbers,
Relate to existence.
In a concrete way.
Grounded in existence,
Having being in time and space.
Erosion of civil liberties,
Wake up before they fade away.
Fairy tales told,
coping mechanisms,
For existential anxieties.
Cops and the robbers,
Politicians and politics.
Too hard to separate.
Cops and the robbers,
All on the take.
The whole world needs cops and robbers,
Cops and robbers need to celebrate.
Yes, they need to celebrate.
Cops and the robbers,
Politicians and politics.
The snakes and the spiders,
Crocodiles and the sharks.
Too hard to separate.
