"She's Wearing Red"
By Michael G Privitera
She's strutting the floor,
She's working the crowd,
She's laughing and living out loud.
I'm in the corner,
got my boots on the chair,
wondering why I still care.
I feel everyone watching,
They know she used to be mine.
a hand on my shoulder,
a whisper,
Give it some time.
She glances over,
does the slow turn away.
I guess I'll finish my beer and git on my way.
Cause she's wearing red,
And I'm feeling blue.
She's two-steppin', with somebody new.
She's wearing red
and I'm feeling blue.
I'm just the fool with nothing better to do.
Everywhere I go,
she's around,
My buddies all say she's now the gal about town.
I don't know how much more I can fake,
tell me lord
Is this your gate?
Cause she's wearing red,
And I'm feeling blue.
She's two-steppin', with somebody new.
She's wearing red
and I'm feeling blue.
I'm just the fool with nothing better to do.
She's been trouble from beginning to end,
I tell myself to help my broken heart mend
She's been trouble from beginning to end,
When she knocks at my door,
I'll play the fool again.
Cause she's wearing red ,
And I'm feeling blue.
She's two-steppin', with somebody new.
She's wearing red
and I'm feeling blue.
I'm just the fool with nothing better to do.
