Our love

By Acidman
We sowed the seed of love at school
and drifted separate ways;
a love that we left dormant,
to sprout in later days;

a love without expression—
for we were both so young,
who would have thought it back at School
that you would be my one;

the one to share my life with,
now that our class dismissed,
the one that I would think of,
and wish I’d only kissed;

kissed and told you how I felt
but I was oh so shy—
when school was done and We’re apart
I’d sit and wonder why;

why I didn’t say it,
back when we were young,
but anyone who’s shy like me
would know it froze my tongue.

So school was now behind us,
and we were cast apart;
even though that seed of love
was placed inside my heart;

evolving as young adults,
so close but oh so far;
We'd see each other passing
like a flash or shooting star;

But I felt still so awkward,
quick chat then rush away,
and then I didn’t see my love
for many a long day—

the hands of time were ticking
and I hadn't found my one;
our seed was lying barren
like a field without the sun;

then halfway through our thirties
like a bolt from out the blue;
the universe It light my path
and lead me straight to you;

this life had marred my shyness
letting confidence transgress;
no more choking on my words
my mind I can express;

our smiles were brightly beaming
as we talked and reminisced;
and as that seed began to sprout
We came real close and kissed.
