I started out life sure I knew more than Him
He gave me the freedom to find the man within
I walked the line between heaven and hell
Struggling to fight off the devil within

Chased fleeting highs, sex, coke and alcohol
But they left me empty after every fall
Then Jesus called me to rise from the fall
His Grace gave me purpose, the truest high of all

In the shadows, I wandered, lost in my pride
Chasing illusions, with nowhere to hide
Yet his mercy pursued me, through every fall
A whisper of hope in the midst of it all

Now I’m soaring in light, in this beautiful world
With God as my guide and my heart for my girl
