When first I saw you, I knew I was home
Then fast the tide changed, our seas frothed and foamed
You blur my edges, cross all my lines
Between you, me and the divine

Maybe my edges have always been soft
Too many times I have paid the cost
Chased a false sun instead of my own
You cloud the sky but blow me right home

I'd be content to live my whole life through
Just basking in the light of you

Coated in silver and edged in black

When it seems deceit must surely be
My intention but it's not
My heart wants to love, my mind says stop

Those seeds were sown long ago
Now the sickly seedlings are all that show
I'm weeding them out so it'll take some time
