LYRIC FOR SALE

By Raymond Coats

In the silence, I seek out signs,
A whisper, a touch gentle and mine.
Shadows fade, just like the day,
Leaving memories of words we used to say.

Where oh where does love retain?
In your eyes, is there a heartbeat, a flame?
Searching for truth, a sign in view,
Is love's evidence still shining through?

Can you feel this weight I hold,
In your chest, does it unfold?
Or has it faded, our shared love's light,
Leaving me in tears, lost in the night.

Where oh where does love retain?
In your eyes, is there a heartbeat, a flame?
In search of a glimpse, something true,
Is love's evidence still shining through?

Maybe it's me who's lost the way,
Love's light dimmed with each passing day.
Chasing ghosts, echoes of you and me,
In the dark, beats there still a heart, lovingly?

Where oh where does love retain?
In your eyes, is there a heartbeat, a flame?
In search of a sign, a truth to pursue,
Is love's evidence still shining through?
