I suppose
By Caitlyn Callery
Spent a long day in the office,
Bored me silly but I get paid.
Counting seconds till it's home time,
When the boss says, please work late.
I wanna say, hell, no.
Not in this lifetime.
Because, as you well know,
This is my prime time.
I'm gonna say no, no,
But when it’s show time,
what do I say?
I say…I suppose.
Stop at a bar on my way home,
This guy comes on, gives me a wink.
He talks in a seductive tone
And asks, can he buy me a drink?
I wanna say, hell, no.
Not in this lifetime.
Because, as you well know,
This is my prime time.
I'm gonna say no, no,
But when it’s show time,
what do I say?
I say…I suppose.
I wanna say, hell, no.
Not in this lifetime.
Because, as you well know,
This is my prime time.
I'm gonna say no, no,
But when it’s show time,
what do I say?
I say…I suppose.
Hell no. Way to go.
Leave me alone. I'm out, I'm done.
Words in my head. Aloud instead,
what do I say?
I say... I suppose.
I wanna say, hell, no.
Not in this lifetime.
Because, as you well know,
This is my prime time.
I'm gonna say no, no,
But when it’s show time,
what do I say?
I say…I suppose.
