LYRIC FOR SALE

By TheHumblePencil

I sat by here where once it was a downhill slope
Thinking about the time we spent trimming the lawn together
Watching you cleaning and maintaining your beloved motorcycles
And you, watching over me while I ride my tricycle

It reminded me that
Time came and went
The century has changed and evolved
But there's one thing that still remains
And that's our memory together

Today Mum made our favourite dish
To me, the taste has changed over time
Perhaps I'm healthier now
And I wondered what you would say about her cooking if you were still here

It reminded me that
Time came and went
The century has changed and evolved
But there's one thing that still remains
And that's our memory together

Though you have left us for many years
Mum still talks about you like it was just yesterday
When you brought her on a joy ride
Like you just celebrated our birthdays
Watched a horror story together and knew it was always a sad ending

It reminded me that
Time came and went
The century has changed and evolved
But there's one thing that still remains
And that's our memory together

So how are you doing on the other side?
Dad, I could only wish you would have a better life
And if we would ever have a chance
I would give you the best life I could as your daughter again
