LYRIC FOR SALE

By Lisa Leonard

Like the seasons which change at your command
and lovers who walk alone or hand and hand
Memories of you still come and go
Just when I think I am safe from the past
from a life that I thought would certainly last
Memories of you still come and go
Memories of you come and go
Why did you leave me behind to suffer an incurable fate
When you know that I will never heal enough to date
Its not that I don't have the vigor or desire
It is just that moving on from you would make me a calcuated liar
If I sit across a new spirit who does not rival your dominion
I will still be forever mired in the grasp of your opinon
After all these years I still eat, drink, and sleep on your time
To preserve the vicous cycle of your thoughts within my mind
At my own fault, and with your eyeless succor
Memories of you still come and go
Just when I think I am safe from tomorrow
From a life I thought was certainly free of sorrow
Memories of you still come and go
Memories of you will always come and go
No matter what I do, even with someone new
I will always imagine being with you
