Even the number is high,
To watch you fade away,
Going slowly back in time.

Your mind is playing tricks,
Dragging memories from the past,
For a second they are alive,
Then turn to shadow and dust.

I still recognize you
In deep lines of your face,
I remember the strength
In pale resting hands.
I see my reflection
In your dreamy eyes,
And for a moment
Corner of your mouth smiles.

I’ll miss your love,
I’ll miss your hug,
And the way you used to laugh.
I’ll miss our talks,
Way things were done,
And being called “my little one”.
