Such an emotional time for me/not knowing how to feel from day to day
I've loved you since before I knew what love was/now I'm supposed to watch it all fade away
When push comes to shove you can play it so hard/so much better than me
But in the end it only cheapens what we shared/ and strips us both of dignity

Sometimes you hurt so deeply inside/I feel I no longer care
Then a day or two goes by and I'm longin once again/when I reach out I want you there
You tell me if I'm goin crazy/Or do you feel the same way too
And what the hell are we doing apart/If it should happen that you do

With you it seemed to be an issue of trust/I swear I never let you down
With me it was accusations and attacks/you treated me like some kind of clown
I never did anything to deserve this fate/ you purposely pushed me way too far
Do you ever let your conscience bother you/ Do you question what kind of person you are

So I sit in this room all alone but for my thoughts/ I read and chain smoke cigarettes
Wonderin how I could love someone/ Who'd cause so much pain then walk away with no regrets
I don't know why you've deserted me out here/ Don't know what purpose it could serve
My only consolation is knowing in the end/you'll get what you deserve
