Lyric Writing Competition now open

To celebrate the launch of two new features, we are launching the Songbay Lyric Competition.

Prizes

Winners –
The writers of the two strongest lyrics submitted will receive free use of our new ‘Lyric-to-Music service >>‘. Their winning lyrics will be turned into professionally recorded original songs by our songwriting team and then published and promoted on Songbay. The winners will be able to use the songs as they wish. They will also receive promotional blog and social media promotion.

Runners up-
The writers of the third and fourth strongest lyrics submitted will receive free use of our new ‘Music and Lyric Improvement service >>‘. These lyrics will receive professional analyses, evaluation and improvement suggestions by our songwriting team. The writers of the lyrics will also receive promotional blog and social media promotion.

Competition Details

To enter the competition, write an original lyric based on this photograph by Iva Rajović >>
The lyric may be written in any genre but must be structured in conventional song format, i.e.,

The closing date for all entries is 1st October 2019, Midnight ET.
There are two ways to enter the competition

To submit your en try via social media, please first upload your lyric to your Songbay artist page then send us a Direct Message on Twitter or Instagram containing the words ‘LYRIC WRITING COMPETITION’, with the web link to your lyric.

Via Email
To submit your entry by email, please first upload your lyric to your Songbay artist page then send us an email at [email protected] with the subject line ‘LYRIC WRITING COMPETITION’, with the web link to your lyric.
Please note that all lyrics will need to be uploaded to Songbay and approved by Songbay before being eligible for the competition. They must be uploaded before the closing date.

Entries are restricted to one lyric per person
