Bitter Sands

The coldest sands swept up ashore
A wind that hit me, but I still can’t be sure
I think the rain, it came and went
On the day I searched for my friend

A trust that left in a year or was it two
I cling on tight to remember the truth
The darkest clouds hung over my head
A promise lost in one moment is dead
