I have only been writing lyrics for a year. However, I have previous experience in writing stories and have dabbled in poetry, but have never been published. (My song, Little Sisters, was originally an untitled poem). As a music lover, I decided last year to experiment with writing a song, and found that it was something that I loved, and also something that I felt came more naturally to me than story writing, so I decided to keep going with it and share my lyrics with the world.
