God's true love for us revealed
Through the ultimate sacrifice
The solemn numbers endured
In the Passion of Christ

Thirty pieces of silver
To the apostle Judas
For a kiss on the cheek
To betray Jesus

Twenty-eight steps
Jesus climbed the Holy Stairs
To be convicted by Pilate
Despite his follower's prayers

Thirty-nine lashes
He withstood on his back
From a Roman soldier
With a whip of leather straps

Two thousand steps
From the Old City to Calvary
Carrying his cross
Mocked by the gallery

Three, nine-inch nails
Pounded into his feet and hands
While his blood dripped slowly
On Golgotha land

Six hours on the cross
Pierced in his side
An agonizing death
While his mother cried

Three days in the tomb
A miraculous transformation
From death to life
A glorious resurrection

For God so loved the world
That he gave his one
and only son
For whoever believes in him
Shall have eternal life
