Artist's Description
**“A Little of Both”** is inspired by the meaning behind yin and yang—the idea that light and darkness aren’t always enemies, but two parts of a greater whole. There can be light within the darkness and darkness within the light.

This song explores that same balance within ourselves: ego and soul, fear and courage, strength and softness, shadow and light. It’s not about destroying the darker parts of who we are or pretending they don’t exist. It’s about understanding them, learning from them, and choosing which part of ourselves gets to lead.

Just like yin and yang, being whole doesn’t mean being completely one thing or the other.

We’re all **a little of both.**

A Little of Both

Verse 1
I got a shadow that walks beside me,
And a light that keeps calling me home.
Got a voice saying, “Prove who you are,”
And another saying, “You already know.”
I used to think I had to kill that ego,
Burn every piece that didn't feel divine,
But maybe I was never meant to lose it,
Maybe I just wasn't meant to let it drive.

Pre-Chorus
'Cause the night ain't fighting with the morning,
And the moon ain't jealous of the sun.
Everything moves in its season,
Two different sides still moving as one.

Chorus
I'm a little bit of shadow,
I'm a little bit of light.
A little bit of letting go,
A little fire left to fight.
I got an ego at the table,
But my soul sits at the head.
I can hear the fear inside me
Without doing what it says.
Maybe balance isn't choosing
Which half of me should go—
Maybe being whole is learning
I'm a little bit of both.

Verse 2
There's a part of me that wants attention,
There's a part that doesn't need a name.
One wants everybody watching,
One just wants to leave this world changed.
And I don't have to hate the first one,
I just gotta understand its voice.
I can listen to the noise inside me
And still remember I have a choice.

Pre-Chorus
There is strength inside surrender,
There is softness in the strong.
Even silence has a purpose,
Even darkness meets the dawn.

Chorus
I'm a little bit of shadow,
I'm a little bit of light.
A little bit of letting go,
A little fire left to fight.
I got an ego at the table,
But my soul sits at the head.
I can hear the fear inside me
Without doing what it says.
Maybe balance isn't choosing
Which half of me should go—
Maybe being whole is learning
I'm a little bit of both.

Bridge
I don't have to kill the darkness
Just to prove that I can shine.
I don't have to lose my human
Just to touch the divine.
Every piece of me has taught me,
Every scar has played a role.
The shadow showed me where I'm hurting,
The light showed me where to go.

Final Chorus
I'm a little bit of shadow,
I'm a little bit of light.
I'm the question and the answer,
I'm the wrong turn and the right.
Yeah, my ego has a purpose,
But it doesn't own my soul.
I can thank it for protecting me
And still decide where I will go.
Maybe heaven isn't somewhere
Only perfect people know—
Maybe peace begins the moment
You stop fighting half your soul.

Outro
Dark into light.
Night into dawn.
Two sides turning,
Still somehow one.
I don't have to lose myself
To finally become whole.
I just had to learn
Which voice should lead my soul.
