We’re at the stage of making fires,
to burn down forbidden walls.
there comes a point,
where it’s difficult to comprehend it all
“Tell Midas he has three wishes”,
says the genie of his riches,
“But no thanks, I take my pleasures small”.

*Burn it down
Let the fire make it clear
Through the smoke
I can still see you here
Walls may fall
But I’ll never disappear
I rise from the ashes
I rise without fear.

The flames are in a hurry,
and the smoke keeps getting thicker.
It’s a matter of life and death,
and it keeps you getting sicker.
You’ve got an invitation from Miss Pressure
and Mr. Stress, you can’t out guess her,
“But no thanks, my way is much quicker”.

*Burn it down
Let the fire make it clear
Through the smoke
I can still see you here
Walls may fall
But I’ll never disappear
I rise from the ashes
I rise without fear.

Temperatures are rising,
from yet another cold shoulder
the drinking man laughs now,
but he won’t when he’s sobered.
Remember when the maiden’s lips were moist,
and now she tries to take away Cupid’s choice,
but he thanks her, because he can,
still think it over.

The ashes smolder after being quenched,
all there’s left is but the weeping,
except the librarian, who knows much more,
because of the company she’s been keeping
When the doctor tells the princess not to wake
“You’ll know too much and then you’ll break”.
She says, “No thanks, I’m just as tired,
from too much sleeping”.

*Burn it down
Let the fire make it clear
Through the smoke
I can still see you here
Walls may fall
But I’ll never disappear
I rise from the ashes
I rise without fear.
