Well I feel I'm getting older
Though they say I'm in my prime
And I'm basically a happy woman
Though I feel down sometimes........
You know I often get to thinking...
Of how it might have been
If not for rainbow coloured Big time thinking.Money making dreams.
------------------
Well I could have been somebody's wife...
Or had a full time job...
I could have children running round some house...
But I kept moving on....
Thought that any day might be the one...
To see my dreams come true...
I had more hope than opportunity...
More laughter than the blues.
---------------
And I don't regret a single thing...
In fact I'd do it all again
Had the love of some fine fellas...
And respect from some good men...
I rode my horse, played my guitar
Drank a few and danced some more.......
But I never found that rainbow's end.....
That I'd been looking for.
--------------
Oh there were many times I fell in love...
And I almost took the vow.....
I broke some hearts and shed some tears
And I went back on the trail.....
You see I had my perfect man..
He understood the life I chose...
But he was only ever in my mind...
An ever loving ghost.
‐------------------------
Well every one comes to a time...
When they look back on their life...
The things they wished they'd never said...
The things that made them proud...
Those memories of summer days...
mountain trails and honky tonks.....
The little things...
The life long friends...
There's much I'm grateful for ..............

And I don't regret a single thing..
In fact I'd do it all again...
I had the love of some fine fellas...
And respect from some good men...
I rode my horse, played my guitar...
Drank a few and danced some more.....
But I never found that rainbows end.......
That I'd been looking for.
