Old Boozer was my constant companion

While Women would come and go

I Find them too demanding

Boozer thinks I'm the star of the show

I've never had that many friends

At least not the two-legged breed

No Time for em on weekends

They cost a lot more to feed

Boozer loved trips to the beach

Dared me to put on his leash

For a dog he sure loved Cat Naps

And Chasing things he couldn't catch

I loved that ole hound more than life

Would have been best man if I'd found a wife

He did have this odd peccadillo

wore himself out lovin on his pillow

The day came when I had to put him down

For hours I held him, didn't utter a sound

I whispered Old Boy 'll still be comin round

Life won't be the same without you old hound

Chorus

They say dogs don't go to heaven when they die

Hell I'd rather my friends miss the trip

If Boozer can't go then neither will I

If Dogs Don't go to heaven when they die

Got some good news that eased the sorrow

Turns out his pillow wasn't his only lover

Seems he met a lady hound at Uncle Joe's

I'm adopting Boozer 2 in time for summer

Chorus

They say dogs don't go to heaven when they die

Hell I'd rather my friends miss the trip

If Boozer can't go then neither will I

If dogs don't go to heaven when they die
